I haven’t linked up with BrummyMummyof2 for Wicked Wednesday in a while – but this photo was a definite.
We’d been to friends to watch the first England game of Euro 2016. The grown ups drank a lot (Kenny’s cocktails being the major issue) and we all got home at midnight – including the 4 and 5 year olds. #badparents
The next morning it’s safe to say everyone was a bit ‘tired and emotional’ – well, apart from my husband who’d moved to coffee rather than booze mid evening – he was fine (just unbearably smug) – but he made me breakfast in bed, so is excused his smugness.
Anyway – ‘Elsa’ couldn’t find her crown (it had been left at the friends’ house along with all manner of wet clothes following a bouncy castle / rain / washing up liquid incident) so we had a full on meltdown which lead to her falling asleep on the rug in the hall.
To be honest I think quite a lot of people who watched England the night before felt similar…….
When the 4 year old comes downstairs late in the evening and helps herself to Daddy’s dregs (there really was hardly anything – before someone calls social services!)
But it did seem to do the trick!!
a) Clearly we couldn’t see her with her ballet skirt over her head
b) She did change out of Crocs for the actual lesson
If you’re going to have a strop – may as well have it in the most convenient place possible………
I think this photo totally sums up being a 4th child, and not quite being tall enough to join in with your older siblings on the activities at Centerparcs – poor G………..
If you’re going to have a massive strop and fall asleep, why not do it underneath the piano so it’s really tricky to get you out again…………………..
It’s been a while since my last Wicked Wednesday post due to being hugely busy with a charity ball (more to post about that soon) – not because the kids haven’t been stroppy and the house hasn’t been a state though!
Today the 3 year old and I went shopping – well, she went stropping. This was because I wouldn’t leave her in the car on her own (I’m not Rachel Stevens #controversial) to watch Stuart Little for the 2 millionth time and insisted she came with me to the dry cleaners and the Post Office.
I tried the reasoning, the old people walking by tried to encourage her (I smiled through gritted teeth) and then I just went for all out bribery of a milkshake and cake in the coffee shop if she walked. She was then all sweetness and light ‘I won’t be stroppy now Mummy’. It’s a good job she’s cute…………….
Do pop across and see other people’s post of stroppy kids and domestic woes!!
As many of you know, my littlest girl is the queen of strops!!
We have been to Walt Disney World in Florida – the most ‘fun’ place on Earth – but that doesn’t stop the strops!
Full on melt down outside ‘It’s a Small World’ – and that was before hearing the annoying song:
Refusing to look at Anna and Elsa that we’d waited over an hour to meet:
Adopting the ‘I’m so bored pose’ in the Fairytale Castle:
But she did look very cute having poked Donald on the bum!!!!
This is my entry for this week’s #wickedwednesdays over on Brummy Mummy of 2’s blog
Last week the children and I started finding owls around Birmingham for the Big Hoot 2015.
Now there’s a lot of scope for Wicked Wednesdays photos from this!
We could have the one outside Cadburyworld in the pouring rain where they all look seriously unimpressed (apart from the eldest who is doing a great fake smile!!) ….
Or the one about 3 hours in on Saturday when I was making them march between owls at pace, and they were slowly losing the will to live……
Or an infamous youngest child strop on the steps of Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, just because that’s what she does……
I have to say there are also some fab photos in the album I’ve set up to record all of our owl spottings, and we’ve really enjoyed seeing more of our great city.
52 down, 37 to go………………
She was showing me her poorly finger – honestly………
